“I’m Colin Petersen, and I’ve just been named to the USA Luge D team!

Last year, my aunt told me about the Slider Search coming to Columbus. I didn’t know much about luge then, but I thought, why not give it a shot! Turns out, it’s not just fun—it could lead to the Olympics!  

After going through the Slider Search in 2022 and 2023, I was invited to Lake Placid this past February to try luge on ice. Going down the ice at 45 mph was awesome!   

I learned in May 2024 that I made the team. Only 43 kids in the whole country get this opportunity, and I’m one of them.  

But being on the team comes with costs, and that’s where I could use your support. Neither USA Luge nor the USA Olympic Committee provides financial support for development team athletes, so I'll be self-funded until I earn a spot on a higher team. Any donation you can make would mean so much to me and help me reach my fundraising goal.
